Janus

From the back catalogue today, from 10th January 2007, a look back and forward for the year.

Janus was the god of beginnings and transitions in Roman mythology, and presided over passages, doors, gates and endings, as well as in transitional periods such as from war to peace. He was usually depicted as having two faces looking at opposite ways, one towards the past and the other towards the future

Janus

Facing forward, looking back
Janus, looking at beginning
On time’s wandering track

Mysteries hidden in Almanac
Janus, looking at the ending
Facing forward, looking back

Love kiss, sweet aphrodisiac
Janus, ecstasy and singing
On time’s wandering track

New Year coal, luck in black
Janus, laughter and weeping
Facing forward, looking back

A grain of sand in an outback
Janus, a transition in timing
On time’s wandering track

Waves break on rocky stack
In our end is new beginnings
Facing forward, looking back
On time’s wandering track
