It took a Guernseyman, Mac Pollard (former Constable of St Peter), to come up with this imaginative way of revitalising the old Cattle Society show (which for those of us with old memories used to be at Springfield) so that there are plenty of interesting things to draw the crowds in, for example:

Rockwood Dog Display Team
Rockin' Horse Equestrian Stunt Team
Jersey Military Vehicle Club Parade
Jersey Cub Scouts Tug of War Final
Jersey Pedigree Whippet Racing Club
Paws & GSD Agility Clubs Demonstration
Chicano Magic Show
Jersey Elvis
Black Butter Jazz Band
Caribbean Revellers

But the same time, the public get to see - and enjoy - the old country Jersey, which they would not deliberately set out to see otherwise:

Parade of Champion Cattle
Cattle Show
Horse Shoeing Demonstration

The fee is really very modest for a day's fun, or even half a day. Daily Entry Charge Adults: £7 Senior Citizens: £4 Children 6 to 15 years: £4 Children under 6 years free. And it has Free Parking. Toilet facilities. Plenty of Food and Drink.

The West show has become the highlight of the summer in our family.
Its very warming that people like the Quenault family make land available for such an event. Community spirit still survives out west!

Perhaps as you're closer to St Peters than me, you might like to report on it in your blog.

Sorry, but 7 quid is a lot to pay for an event of the walk around looking at things variety. Some of us aren't exactly made of money to throw around on things like that!
