Violin in Fisherman’s Chapel

A poem about Katalin playing in the Fisherman's Chapel on New Year's Day.

Violin in Fisherman's Chapel

Washed white by Reformer's zeal
But wall paintings restored today
Again worshippers come to kneel
The candle is lit, and people pray

The Light of Christ is shining here
Such sweet melody, lilting, played
As light has come, and cast out fear
Violin playing by my music maid

Strings singing out on the violin
Sound the story of long, long ago
Sacred place where walls are thin
As gently now, she draws her bow

This is the blessing of new wine
A legato song so sweet and fine

And here you can see her playing...
