The Arrival of the Vega to Jersey
The Vega came from far away
To Island bound by wall
Where Jersey land was occupied
It came to save us all.
That winter last, so cold we tell
So little food to bear
And famine pains for all of us
No hope it seemed was there
Red Cross came with just enough
In famine all were thin
It docked, and at an open gate
The parcels coming in
And so, so dearly were we loved
And we must thank them too
For saving lives of Jersey folk
Remember them we do
