Knight of Wands

Knight of Wands

The herald on horseback brings tidings
Message opening out of many things
But to bring a word of sorts, not war
Armour is dignity, and nothing more
The wand is held as a banner here
To proclaim the knight is drawing near
At speed, in haste, and always moving
There is no permanence, no improving
Simple motion coming from without
Can cause disruption as he comes out
Into full view, while in the distance
Pyramids speak of permanence
So far away, so unlike the speed
Which seems to be his greater need.

The Queen of Wands

The Queen of Wands

The lady sits upon the throne
Her future open and unknown
In calmness, serene with dignity
Her eyes gaze out and meet with me
Sunflower growing not far behind
Mirrors her aspect, gentle, kind
Her staff of rule, of silent power
To open up, embrace and flower
The black cat is sentinel before
Her love within her hidden lore
Upon her head a gilded crown
And clad in simple golden gown
She gives forth life, calls forth love
In sweet harmony, my ladylove.

The King of Wands

The King of Wands

Garbed as a lion, with a decorated cape
Upon his shoulders down does drape
Nobility lies in the office, not the man
Who but lives it out in his lifespan
A wooden wand in flower blooms
Is held by hand, as his heirlooms
Authority is vested in him, not his own
Sitting honestly upon his throne
The King is the title, not the name
As the Coronation does proclaim.

The Magic House of Wands

The Magic House of Wands

Master Hand now corresponds.
Within the magic house of wands
The wand is green blade rising
Illusion here also surprising
A stave to fight in battle well
Many aspects herein dwell.
At first as seeming, but also
Master Changer making so
To cast a spell and here to see
To bind the threads reality.

The Fool

The Fool

Appearing in his way to move to death
A precipice before him in hairs breadth
The white rose in his hand held high
Will he fall down, or will he fly
And step out into space, beyond all
As he strides forward, dainty, tall
To walk perhaps upon the very air
This is his mystery, his wondrous flair
His wallet on his stick, his head upraised
Here is the cipher, the fool, and we amazed
At motley harlequin who comes and goes
And never reveals, and never shows.

The World

The World

The cosmic dance of all creation
Here in her glory, bare in elation
The world as we see her living form
Gaia revealed here as the norm
The joy of living nature that should be
When not the shadow that we see
But a harmony of earthly paradise
A new creation that will suffice
Four creatures sing in harmony
Of this, time’s final destiny.

The Last Judgement

The Last Judgement

The Angelus sounds one clear note
That marks for death an antidote
This is the crisis of the end of time
Embodied for the new springtime
Judgement calls for all to rise
Significance concealed verifies
But cannot reach all meaning now
Only that this is promised as a vow
That those that die will rise again
Wonder, adoring, this Amen.

The Sun

The Sun

The sun gazes in serenity
Daylight reveals clarity.
The naked child is innocent
Personified, in symbol sent
To show to us the path to go
With purity as white as snow
Upon the white horse, all fear alloy
Become as a child, simple joy
This is the simple wisdom here
In such moments is no fear
Above the sun shines calmly on
Here is Eden’s prolegomenon
A great and holy light in all
The light before the fall
And yet to be in restoration
Unfolding in imagination.

The Moon

The Moon

The moon beams down, reflected light
The going forth in the moon at night
Is here the wolf, and here the dog
Passion revealed in analogue
The beast within behind the mind
The animal part of humankind
The scorpion rising from the deeps
The moon reflects, her counsel keeps
The mind controls the lesser forms
Brings back the calm, and here transforms
Between two towers, the unknown
The path leads on, in undertone
A harsh face is here beheld
Mind in moonlight, love expelled.

The Star

The Star

Beauty, bare and naked, kneels
Seven white stars above, such seals
By greater star whose golden aspect
Shines down upon her genuflect
She kneels on land, one foot on water
Of purity, this is so much worthier
Of delight in vision, of truth unveiled
Of adoration, this entailed,
Undying beauty, this behold
A star so warm, to thaw the cold
And inner light tells out of peace
With such perfection not to cease.

The Tower

The Tower

Babel reaching to the stars is struck
By lightening, a symbol of bad luck
The tower falling down by night
Figures leap to death in sight
This is the ruin of the House of We
Ourselves in arrogance cannot be
Because upon this building’s form
Is mind consumed in firestorm
The man is falling to lonely death
And cries in agony, in dying breath
The woman falling silent, alone
Plummets downwards like cold stone
Separation here does fall apart
Tower falling, breaking heart.

The Devil

he Devil

The Horned Goat, with bat-like wings
Evil with him now he brings
A blessing reversed in altered way
What is unsaid, and not to say
A countenance of terror’s blight
Eyes that cast fear in their sight
The pentagram is upside down
Above his darkly menaced frown
And down beneath his grim domain
Are man and woman, bound in chain
The occult from the astral plane
Here is darkest in his reign.

Temperance

Temperance

The eldila shines in angelic form
In harmony, it does conform
Pouring living water from one chalice
into another, thesis and antithesis
with one foot on earth, one on water
This is temperance in alternator
That combines and harmonises all
Mind and matter entwines install
Balance rises upon its wings
This the angel voice now sings
But unsmiling, controlled in poise
Temperance, but here no joys.

Death

Death

The black knight rides upon the field slowly on
Beneath the visor, the sightless sockets here upon
Gaze from a skull, the bony hands hold the reigns
As it moves relentlessly over all remains
The king has fallen beneath his deadly pace
For none can live and see him face to face
The child is cowed on bended knee
For there is no escape, no place to flee
Black armour on a white charger moving here
The maiden falls, turns away her face in fear
He clasps the banner signed with mystic rose
A sight of final ending now bestows
And now the Bishop prays, awaits his end
For there is no halting, no way to defend
Transit moving over all the earth
Only in the distant sun, rebirth.

The Hanged Man

The Hanged Man

Upon the cross of wood, but upside down
An aura round my face, like a crown
I hang here, not dead or dying now
But just dangling down upon the bough
Yet not in life, but displaced in time
This is suspension so unknown, sublime
Entrancement veiled beneath my sight
I see the beyond, the infinite.

Justice

Justice

Upon his throne, and between two pillars
Here is the mightiest of arbitrators
Justice adorned in crimson robes
With searching mind that ever probes
The foundation of organic law
Wherein his mystery he once saw
The balance of all human kind
Equilibrium now here we find.

The Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel of Fortune

The Wheel spins in the midst of sky
Four creatures around its edge do fly
The flux of human life in motion
Turning key in activation
Providence revealed in the flux
As it spins in vast epochs
This is the riddle of the Sphinx
How each moment fits and links
The serpent crushed beneath its frame
Time is an ever consuming flame.

The Hermit

The Hermit

The Hermit bows his head in thought
In contemplation of all and nought
In appearance seeming aged and infirm
And yet he belies this, standing firm
Upon the mountain peak above
Silence looks down on mortal love
Past the seven ages of mankind
And holds a light to heal the blind
Within the star is shining bright
Over the earth, it casts warm light
Calls to follow in rising from below
Saying where I am, you may be also.

Fortitude (Strength)

Fortitude

Life shines over her, gives hidden strength
That although the days increase in length
She bears them in fortitude with virtue
Subdues the roaring lion beneath anew
Bring flowers from her gardening days
Union with mystery, that she prays
To take upon herself a sweet yoke
Let justice rule, emotions choke
This is Divine Law higher still
Emerging strength in all its will.

The Chariot

The Chariot

The conquering hero returning from the wars
In all victorious as conquistadors
Two Sphinxes draw his chariot on
White and black give riddles upon
Which he replies with rational mind
But to that mystery, he is blind
Cannot see beyond the visible light
To realm of invisible, much more bright
But hidden from conquest of logic
Not reducible to algebraic.
