Knight of Wands
The herald on horseback brings tidings
Message opening out of many things
But to bring a word of sorts, not war
Armour is dignity, and nothing more
The wand is held as a banner here
To proclaim the knight is drawing near
At speed, in haste, and always moving
There is no permanence, no improving
Simple motion coming from without
Can cause disruption as he comes out
Into full view, while in the distance
Pyramids speak of permanence
So far away, so unlike the speed
Which seems to be his greater need.
The Queen of Wands
The lady sits upon the throne
Her future open and unknown
In calmness, serene with dignity
Her eyes gaze out and meet with me
Sunflower growing not far behind
Mirrors her aspect, gentle, kind
Her staff of rule, of silent power
To open up, embrace and flower
The black cat is sentinel before
Her love within her hidden lore
Upon her head a gilded crown
And clad in simple golden gown
She gives forth life, calls forth love
In sweet harmony, my ladylove.
The King of Wands
Garbed as a lion, with a decorated cape
Upon his shoulders down does drape
Nobility lies in the office, not the man
Who but lives it out in his lifespan
A wooden wand in flower blooms
Is held by hand, as his heirlooms
Authority is vested in him, not his own
Sitting honestly upon his throne
The King is the title, not the name
As the Coronation does proclaim.
The Magic House of Wands
Master Hand now corresponds.
Within the magic house of wands
The wand is green blade rising
Illusion here also surprising
A stave to fight in battle well
Many aspects herein dwell.
At first as seeming, but also
Master Changer making so
To cast a spell and here to see
To bind the threads reality.
The Fool
Appearing in his way to move to death
A precipice before him in hairs breadth
The white rose in his hand held high
Will he fall down, or will he fly
And step out into space, beyond all
As he strides forward, dainty, tall
To walk perhaps upon the very air
This is his mystery, his wondrous flair
His wallet on his stick, his head upraised
Here is the cipher, the fool, and we amazed
At motley harlequin who comes and goes
And never reveals, and never shows.
The World
The cosmic dance of all creation
Here in her glory, bare in elation
The world as we see her living form
Gaia revealed here as the norm
The joy of living nature that should be
When not the shadow that we see
But a harmony of earthly paradise
A new creation that will suffice
Four creatures sing in harmony
Of this, time’s final destiny.
The Last Judgement
The Angelus sounds one clear note
That marks for death an antidote
This is the crisis of the end of time
Embodied for the new springtime
Judgement calls for all to rise
Significance concealed verifies
But cannot reach all meaning now
Only that this is promised as a vow
That those that die will rise again
Wonder, adoring, this Amen.
