This is the famous speech on parting from his granddaughter, Susan; he says: "One day I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine." (The Doctor, in "The Dalek Invasion of Earth")
One I like as it puts limits on science etc: "Logic, my dear Zoe, merely enables one to be wrong with authority."(The Doctor, in "The Wheel in Space"); something similar when he says: "The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots."(The Doctor, in "Robot")
For those who know any politicians, this was good: "Look, try and use your intelligence, man, even if you are a politician." (The Doctor, in "Day of the Daleks"); staying in the political arena, I love "One has no wish to be devoured by alien monstrosities, even in the cause of political progress."(One of the Tribunal, in "Carnival of Monsters")
This was amusing about the nature of the mass of rubbish TV in general: "What are we going to do now?" "Keep it confused, feed it with useless information. I wonder if I have a television set handy?"(Sgt. Benton and the second Doctor, in "The Three Doctors")
A point to ponder: "Brigadier, a straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting."(The Doctor, in "The Time Monster"); another comes with a nice touch of Buddhism in "When everything is new, can anything be a surprise?" (Cho-je, in "Planet of the Spiders")
One of my favourites! "There's no point in being grown-up if you can't be childish sometimes."(The Doctor, in "Robot")
Interesting moral dilemma: "Listen; if someone who knew the future pointed out a child to you, and told you that that child would grow up totally evil, to be a ruthless dictator who would destroy millions of lives, could you then kill that child?"(The Doctor, in "Genesis of the Daleks")
