They went to sea in a Sieve, they did,

They went to sea in a Sieve, they did,
  In a Sieve they went to sea:
In spite of all their friends could say,
On a winter's morn, on a stormy day,
  In a Sieve they went to sea!
And when the Sieve turned round and round,
And every one cried, `You'll all be drowned!'
They called aloud, `Our Sieve ain't big,
But we don't care a button! we don't care a fig!
  In a Sieve we'll go to sea!'
    Far and few, far and few,
      Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
    Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
      And they went to sea in a Sieve.

- Edward Lear

Reading leaked emails from Geoff Southern, and a leaked letter from Senator Ben Shenton, I now find myself reading about yet more leaked documents. I know that "the Ship of State is the only ship which leaks from the top" (Yes, Minister, The Bed of Nails), but this is getting to be ridiculous. We will soon have more leaks that there are in Wales. Maybe they should take note of what Benjamin Franklin said: "Three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead!"

Police Chief answers back

Leaked documents obtained by Channel Television have revealed that the Chief Officer of the States of Jersey Police is claiming his suspension was mishandled. In a confidential briefing document for States Members, Graham Power says proper procedure wasn't followed when he met with the Home Affairs Minister to discuss the handing of the historic abuse inquiry. He also claims Deputy Andrew Lewis lied when he said the Chief Officer had not been asked to consider resignation. We'll have the full story in our bulletins on Thursday...

Who's in power in the Jersey parish of St Saviour? Is it Deputy Jeremy Macon or his mum? That's the question many States members are asking. Amongst them Deputy Geoff Southern. Channel Television has obtained a series of leaked confidential e-mails between Deputy Southern and Deputy Macon. Deputy Southern tells the new member he should support Senator Alan Breckon for Chief Minister. But all the replies come back from Deputy Macon's mum, Nellie. She even offers advice to Deputy Southern: "Alan doesn't have a hope and neither does Stuart - so what viable choice are you offering?" In frustration Deputy Southern says: "I know you will not want to hear this but it is about time you allowed Jeremy to act for himself... Grow up Jeremy - DITCH THE MOTHER".
