A pause between death and life
Between Good Friday, Easter morn
But still there is the endless strife
We wonder when peace will dawn

A pause between death and life
Digging bodies out of the rubble
A child, a husband, and a wife
Earthquake brings such trouble

A pause between death and life
Wars go on, no bombing cease
Grief to families cuts like knife
And where is hope and peace

Holy Saturday, just counting time
Until bells ring out, clocks chime
