The Lovers
The knowledge of good and evil
Sweet fruit, not bitter pill
Pleasures to taste of simple love
Twelve fruits of desire above
Lovers bare souls to one another
The sun shines down on him and her
This is a way of truth and life
Feelings are now wakerife
Songs of experience heard behind
The Serpent round the tree does wind
A secret law of providence.
Naked love without pretence.
