Heatwave

The heat beats down upon mankind,
The climate change its ways!
The heat exhaustion fogs out mind
Cooler times we wish to find,
As Pagans sun gods praise

The warnings came for all that heard
Melting ice in sea
As the lemmings coming heard
We have not listened to that word
The climate change we see

The evening dews of quietness,
As rising heat waves cease;
Leave in their wake the strain and stress,
And let disordered lives confess
As temperatures decrease

The evening breeze, was our desire
Oh coolness such a balm
Our senses dumb, that night retire
Far away from raging wild fire
To pray for sleep so calm
