Mourners in the Rain
Mourners are standing in the rain
For poppy wreaths and fallen plight
Those brave young men came to fight
Fell in muddy fields of dread and pain
War horse with a blood soaked mane
And unmarked graves so out of sight
Mourners are standing in the rain
For poppy wreaths and fallen plight
Outside the church, down the lane
Memorial marks that darkest night
We gather here, in a solemn sight
Wars will come, and wars will wane
Mourners are standing in the rain
Mourners are standing in the rain
For poppy wreaths and fallen plight
Those brave young men came to fight
Fell in muddy fields of dread and pain
War horse with a blood soaked mane
And unmarked graves so out of sight
Mourners are standing in the rain
For poppy wreaths and fallen plight
Outside the church, down the lane
Memorial marks that darkest night
We gather here, in a solemn sight
Wars will come, and wars will wane
Mourners are standing in the rain
