So far the results have been a triumph for the "establishment" party, with only Mike Vibert set to lose a seat to Alan Breckon.
The proliferation of candidates against them has meant, like last time in 2005, but even more so, a complete split of the "opposition" to the degree that none of them can do well. It will be interesting when the results are in to see what would happen if their votes had gone to say just 3 candidates. I'll post on that later.
The one who has done best - Mike Higgins - is the least "opposition" and most clearly marked independent from any groups, be they JDA, Green or Time for Change.
The disturbing thing is the way at some Parish Halls, voters were asked how many voting slips they wanted, i.e., did they want the Senators, the Constable (if election was happening) and / or the CET slip. I'm sure that is not either right or a good idea, and neither did the commentators on BBC Radio Jersey.
