Railway Walk

A touch of nostalgia as the weather warms and walks are a pleasure again.

Railway Walk

Along the dusty track I walk
Where once the trains did go
And passengers excited talk
A time lost in time’s flow

And yet I hear that siren call
The whistle of the passing train
If only I could cross time’s wall
And be where steam did reign

But train is gone, now dusty track
I’m brought back to the present
Wheels on rails, clack, clack, clack
A snatch of past, mere segment

Somewhere a train is waiting there
And time itself might shed a tear
